Chemical peels and medical facials are a fast and easy way to exfoliate the skin and improve texture. During the treatment, a chemical solution is applied to the skin which causes an increase in cellular turnover or “flaking” of the skin. You may notice visible exfoliation over the course of a week while some patients don’t see any peeling. This cellular turnover reveals regenerated skin that is smoother and brighter. Chemical Peels are highly effective for treating acne, wrinkles, light pigment, and scars.
Chemical peels and medical facials are specially formulated to exfoliate and slough unwanted skin debris and imperfections and range in penetration into the skin from light to deep. We carry a variety of professional peels which include Salicyclic Peel, Glycolic Peel, Lactic Peel, and TCA Peel. Dr. Fulton can formulate a plan to target your anti-aging goals and skin imperfections.

- Reduce age spots and dark patches (hyperpigmentation)
- Improve the appearance of mild acne scars
- Treat certain types of acne
- Treat oily skin

NOTE: Chemical peels are NOT a one-time solution to all your skin problems. If you suffer from severe wrinkles, sagging skin under your eyes or chin, then you may want to consider our non-surgical facelift.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
That’s a great question! In short, you WILL see improvement after your first treatment.
Chemical peels come in a variety of strengths that penetrate to various skin layers and produce different aesthetic results.
Skin imperfections such as age spots and fine lines that take a long time to develop may require 3 to 6 treatments to see significant improvement. Mild acne scars fall into this category as well.
Many of our customers enjoy a relaxing light chemical peel to exfoliate the skin to improve skin texture about every 4 weeks.
NOTE: For faster results to reduce wrinkles and acne scars you may consider combining your chemical peel with a microneedling or DermaSweep treatment.

Chemical Peel Options
Superficial Peels
Lactic or fruit acids are the mildest, and are generally used to treat fine wrinkles, dry areas, uneven pigmentation, acne, rough skin and sun-damaged. A superficial peel will leave skin feeling refreshed and fine lines may be lessened. The downtime is generally minimal and some minor flaking can occur.
Medium Depth Peel
Retinoic acid in combination with other acids provide a deeper level of peeling to smooth fine lines, heal superficial blemishes and lighten pigmentation. The skin will experience flaking within a couple of days that can last for about 3-5 days. These peels can be used any skin type.
Deep Peel
This treatment provides the most dramatic results for treatment of hyperpigmentation and /or melasma. The acids used are customized with the most effective prescriptive pharmaceutical agents. Pre and post care are required for optimal results.
